We have been noticing some of the typical conversations on campus: football (soccer), exams, clubbing, The X Factor, girlfriends, boyfriends, etc. I've been thinking of what's missing from what is being talked about...it's Jesus. A great friend of mine, Ali Buras, once told me she felt the same thing while she was on campus in the States. Ali is a Chi Alpha pastor at the University of Oklahoma and has been my friend since we were in a Bible study together as young college students.
She told me that she was sitting on campus one day, thinking the very same thoughts that have been on my own mind recently. She said that she prayed that the common conversation amongst students would change. How amazing would it be to walk past a group of people and, instead of the topic being their housemate's drug problem, they were talking about how Jesus had changed their housemate's life?
Pray with us that the students who know Jesus will have the courage to share their faith with their friends. Also pray for Blake and I as we work to find ways to help them as they do so. Let's change the common conversation.
