This past weekend, we had the privilege to visit Grace Christian Church's brand new college ministry, Upload. With three major colleges (and many other training and language institutions), Cork has over 25,000 students. We are thankful that God has placed this dynamic, Spirit-filled church in such a vibrant university city.
Having only begun two months ago, they are connecting with 20+ students! They meet every second Sunday of the month. A wonderful family from the church is spearheading this ministry and hold the monthly meeting in their homing, cooking food and sharing their lives with students from all over Ireland and beyond. We were so blessed by the community that is taking place among these students.
I (Blake) was honoured to share a devotional thought with the students. As we looked at 2 Corinthians 5:14-21 together, we were reminded of our responsibility to the "message of reconciliation"...or as I like to call it, the Message of Connection. While we are personally connected to Jesus Christ and also connected to one another as followers of Christ, we must never forget our responsibility to connect others to Christ.
I encouraged and challenged the students, that they are not simply at university to receive a degree but to share this message with their classmates and flatmates. Our relationship with Jesus and our lives lived in the Body of Christ, MUST culminate in allowing God to use our story to share this message of divine connection with others in our life.
Thank you for your prayers and support. Together we are impacting the nation of Ireland by encouraging and empowering university students with this Message of Connection.
