For as long as we’ve lived in Dublin I’ve enjoyed the vibe that appears every Christmas season . It’s so different this year, because I don’t get to the city centre very often. Last night I was on the bus headed home and passed Trinity College Dublin. When we first moved to Dublin, we lived a one minute walk from that building. We have so many memories of typical Christmas activity around that area. If I’m not careful, I could get stuck mourning what I don’t see instead of appreciating what I do see.
Through this time there will be many traditions we have to lay aside for the time being. There will be compromises and limitations. But it’s important for us to remember that there is still beauty to behold, there is still joy to be had, there are still many moments to cherish.
As we get to the heart of this Christmas Season, let’s try to focus on the great moments we have, instead of mourning the momentary sacrifices we’re making this year. Life will normalize, we will get past this, and all this will be behind us. Let’s learn from this season and practice gratitude.
One of the things I’m most grateful for is all of you. Your prayers and support, your partnership, are make everything we do possible. God has teamed us up to accomplish something great, and for that I am forever grateful.
