A message from Sean Mullarkey, pastor of St. Mark’s Church Dublin:
For the past two weeks I have had the privilege and the pleasure of 'hanging out' with my friend, colleague and missionary 'extraordinaire' Blake Edgmon. On our travels, the length and breath of Oklahoma, (It really has felt that way!), we haven driven the highways, shared and spoken in Churches and met some incredible people and ministers. It has been exhilarating.
On these travels many insights have been afforded to me and for that I am grateful to God. One of the keenest insights I have received has been to see first hand what it costs our American brothers and sister to be missionaries in countries like our own. I know that I always knew that being a missionary is sacrificial and costly but being here on Blake and Katy's 'home turf' has driven this knowledge from my head to my heart.
On this trip I have met ministers and Churches that would love Blake and Katy on staff. I have met 'Edgmon' family members who would love this precious family to stay home and remain local. I have met Church staff who value Blake's wisdom and His knowledge of worship, discipleship and outreach.
Yet, Blake and Katy chose Ireland. They gave up all of this and more to reach out to our college students. They chose St.Marks when they could have had the pick of a number of awesome, magnificent Churches here in the U.S. of A.! And they chose the call of God above the call of family, friends, Churches and Pastors.
Missionaries of the world I salute you. Blake and Katy and Eden, we are in your debt. Thank you so much!
Love and blessings.
Sean Mullarkey
