“We don’t want to complete in the flesh what has been started by the Spirit.” This is something that one of our friends randomly said while we were Skyping the other day. It brought to mind something that I have been pondering for a few months now: how often do I try to take the reigns of something that I believe God is doing through my life.
In this season of Students for Christ where we are in the preliminary phase, anything that God has us do feels exciting and makes me want to take off running with it. If you give a mouse a cookie...he’ll want to start making cookie spreadsheets and buying gallons of milk.
The trouble with following the will of God isn’t always starting off - it is continuing to walk hand-in-hand with Him through every stage of the process. Instead of tuning out the Lord’s voice in favour of our own ideas, we need to remember to take it easy and walk with Him. He knows the story from beginning to end.
