One Step Back, Two Steps Forward

I’m literally sitting and typing this update in God’s provision. We began our journey with physical Zoe locations during covid. We needed a space to work, and we needed a space women could come for support. We found it in our local village, Shankill. A wonderful little office, decorated perfectly “us”, and exuding peace.

One day a problem arose. Our team grew, our workload increased, and we moved to a bigger office. This was more of a workspace office with a corner for therapy. As with all growing pains there was frustration and discomfort. Anytime we needed to host a woman (which we were delighted to do so), we had to erase all white boards, clean up papers and notes, and vacate the premises. It was hard.

However, when we gave up our original office (perfect for supporting women in crisis), we had a larger vision in mind. There was another space we new would be perfect. It shared the hallway with the bigger room and would provide a suite. Not being able to afford two rooms, we moved to the bigger room in faith that the Lord would provide us with expansion when the time was right.

Today I’m sitting in that answered prayer, realising that my faith is too small. What else can I believe God for in my life, my family, our ministry? I’m inspired to challenge myself, and I would like to push you as well. Take the leap when you know God has called you. Not only will He provide, but He will reveal to you how much bigger and more capable He is that we can imagine.

Thank you to all who give. Thank you to all who pray. Together we’re moving forward. Today we rest in God’s provision and look towards God’s promise.

"Up and to the Right"

I’m writing this update from the OKC airport, absolutely dying to see Katy, Eden, and Eli. I’m on yet another fundraising trip to the U.S., which is how we’re able to fund Zoe Community. I’m so grateful for the people God has put in our lives. I could write a long list here of all the friends and family I was able to connect with on this trip, and I’m grateful for them all. Some pray, some encourage, and many give.

Rodney and Shannon Fouts from North Church have been longtime leaders and influencers in my life dating all the way back to my middle school years as they served as District Youth Directors. I had the honor and privilege of joining Rodney on his podcast, Up and to the Right. We had a great time discussing Zoe Community and realities of life. Check it out here.

I love the analogy of “Up and to the Right”. We’ve experienced many ups and downs with Zoe and with life in general. But I can tell you that with all the zigs and zags, God is ever leading us up and to the right. He’s always got a plan and a provision. We’re so blessed to serve Him alongside people who lift us up.

These trips can be very tough and grueling, but it’s the people I get to see and spend time with that makes it fruitful and worthwhile. Thank you to all of you that I met with. And thanks to each and every one of you who give and pray for us week in and week out. Together we’re moving up and to the right!

Who's Around You?

This ficus was a gift from my good friend, Kyle. We have been blessed in our nearly 12 years living in Ireland to have some pretty amazing people in our lives. Kyle is one of those. He’s a pastor in Bray and has been a huge source of friendship and wisdom. We talk about ministry, he asks me tough questions, and we encourage one another. This plant means a lot, but it’s a symbol of how he has selflessly invested into Katy and I.

I’m reminded of how important it is to surround yourself with people who have your back, encourage you toward what God has called you to do, and will give (not drain) your energy. Kyle is one of a handful Katy and I have here. Do you have those people?

We thank God for those around us like Kyle. And we thank God for you. We may be an ocean apart or right next door. Distance is irrelevant when we are partnered together for God’s Kingdom. Thank you for all you do!
